Experiments in Expressive Watercolor

Lincoln Watercolor

Lincoln Watercolor

The size of this piece was too big for my scanner, so I had to use my cellphone to photograph it. ‘Expressive’ watercolor picture based on the Lincoln drawing posted earlier. I decided to paint everything besides Lincoln himself. What I did was use masking fluid to mask out all the shapes from the drawing and paint everything around these shapes. Quite happy with the result. I guess the colors of choice is pretty obvious. Colors used were W&N Cotman, Prussian blue and Cadmium Red Deep(Hue).

Nectarine Watercolor

I’m not sure, but I think these are nectarines. Watercolor piece done in an expressive style.

Disclaimer: The photograph seriously doesn’t do the watercolors justice, they appear faded and not at all as brilliant.
